So I downloaded Cha-Ching for the iPhone and the 2.0 beta for the Mac and so far I am really liking it. The iPhone app is pretty polished and makes recording purchases and payments pretty easy. Even better is that it syncs with the desktop app when they are on the same wifi network. When you sync all the purchases you record on your phone are synced over to the desktop app and vice-versa. It also syncs over payees and budgeting information. Pretty cool.

Just wanted to give a quick run down of the new features for the iPhone 3.0 software update. It will be available sometime in the summer as a free update to iPhone users ($9.95 for iPod Touch users).
Here we go! You will now be able to purchase additional content for app right in the app. Say you bought levels 1-10 and complete them, the app can prompt you to purchase the next set of levels and you don't have to even leave the app. However, if an app started out as free, they will not be allowed to use this feature. (Can't sucker you in and then get you to pay once inside the app.)
Peer to Peer apps: "you can bring up a standard system panel which finds other touches or iPhones which are in the same app. You form an IP connection, and you can game together. This will automatically discover running apps, wirelessly over Blutetooth"
Accessory Developers can now build apps that talk to their accessories. "With 3.0, we're going to enable accessory developers to build custom apps that talk directly to that hardware, example -- an FM transmitter. With 3.0, the dev can build a custom app that pairs up with it, and automatically finds the right station and tunes it in." They can talk over the dock connection or bluetooth.
Google Maps will now be able to be embeded right into an application and they are going ot let developers use core location to do turn by turn directions. Yea for GPS apps!
Push notifications are coming, they said they had some many apps wanting to use it in ways that they hadn't even thought of that they had to step back and rethink they way it works. "We're good to go." No background apps as it kills battery life.
"We're introducing a new API for streaming video and audio. And we're adding an API for in-game voice" Was hoping that this meant that you could stream video up, but it is only down, as in watching tv.
Cut, Copy & Paste: "Double tap on text, and it automatically selects it -- then puts grab points at the end of the selection, with a cut/copy/paste bubble above it. To select a whole block, you double tap, slide with your finger or thumb (you get a new magnifying glass), and pull across what you want to grab." Works across apps! "Long press to select blocks of text in Safari. Using the same engine that zooms in on blocks of text to intelligently know what to select. It also copies HTML. Shake to undo. Clever."
"We've had requests to send more than one pic at a time -- and now you can do that." You can select multiple pictures and copy them, then paste them into a mail message."
Landscape keyboard: Now works in Mail, Notes and SMS.
You can now forward and delete multiple text messages.
Adding support for MMS!!! Although twitpic has kind of taken care of the lack of that feature just fine. Guess not everyone uses twitter.
Voice Memos app.
Calendar is getting support for CalDAV and .ics for subscriptions.
"Stocks: some nice additions here. We're adding support for news stories at the bottom, and details right in the app. We've also added landscape view."
Search: adding search to all of our key applications. Mail - You can search from, to, subject, and all headers. If the message isn't on your iPhone, you can continue that search on the server. Search in Calendar: you can search for appointments. Also, search in iPod, song name, album, artist... and, search in Notes, by the title or body.
Spotlight homescreen: Spotlight lives far left in your pages, keyboard is present and allows you pop up anything you're looking for in a list below a search box. A single place to search across your phone.
These are only a few of the new features that come with 3.0. Like Note Sync, you can sync your notes." Auto-fill, YouTube accounts, stereo Bluetooth! WiFi autologin, anti-phising.
Not all the features will work on the 1st gen iPhone, MMS and A2DP will not work. (sorry Steven, looks like your going to have to upgrade.)

Some things to notice, half of the park is missing. No toon town, the matterhorn is not fully enclosed. No thunder mountain. What do you see missing?
